Robots in the Classroom-10
I have briefly heard of these robots coming being used to help teachers
in the classroom. Whether or not they will become more common in schools
and other academic settings is hard to say. We are a technologically
advancing world and with these advances come big changes. I can see
where the robots would become helpful to the teachers as an assistant
but I don’t want to see robots completely replacing teachers. Having
robots as teachers would take away the personal aspect of having a real
person in the classroom teaching you and helping you learn new things.
As we’ve discussed in previous posts, people are growing up not knowing
how to have proper face-to-face conversations, and preferring technology
companionship. I believe teachers play a huge role in helping these
conversational skills be developed and placing robots in the classrooms
could change the way students react to each other. Even in this
technological advancing world, I don’t think robots will ever completely
take over the job as being the teacher but it will be interesting to
see where these advances take us.
